Hi, I’m Sarah!
I am a certified somatic coach trained through generative somatics and the Strozzi Institute, and I have 15 years experience in movements for racial, economic, climate, and gender justice as an organizer and as an organizational leader.
My work is in service of people participating in social and environmental justice movements. For me, the work of organizing for a just world has been profoundly fulfilling and profoundly challenging. While I’ve been in leadership roles within movement organizations, coaching has helped me navigate feedback and develop new skill sets, navigate burn out and sustainability, lead teams more effectively, and work across identity and power. My coaching supports movement participants and leaders to become more resourced and to fulfill their longings for transformation in themselves and in their work.
I am a white, cisgender, bisexual, raised-Christian, chronically-ill woman with class privilege. I grew up on Dakota and Anishinaabe land in southeastern Minnesota, and currently reside in Minneapolis after living for 8 years on Lenni Lenape land in Brooklyn, NY. I have been a part of social and environmental change movements since 2006, and I have been engaged in full time organizing and organizational development work for 14 years. Most recently, my work has been fighting climate change and organizing for a Green New Deal as the Managing Director of the Sunrise Movement. Prior to that I spent a decade organizing young people with wealth for reparations and wealth redistribution while on staff at Resource Generation. Along the way I have been involved in immigrant justice organizing, co-founded the Showing Up for Racial Justice NYC chapter, have done extensive fundraising, and served on the board of Third Wave Fund. I currently organize against Christian Zionism with the Twin Cities chapter of Christians for a Free Palestine. I love to sing, tend to my houseplants, and spend time with my beloveds.
